Wilma Neruda

Wilma Neruda was born on March 21, 1838 in part of the Austrian Empire. She was a true prodigy with the violin. At the time, however, the violin was not considered a lady-like instrument. Her family was very musical. She was one of ten children and not the only musician among them. She used to play publicly with a sister and brothers when she was young.

  1. We both have alot of things in common, as many would realize. But the best thing i personally think is us both being female violinist. As you may already know, it was very rare for women to be involved in music. So for you to sit here and have such a strong passion for the violin, is big for me. More than you'll ever know. So keep doing your job and hopefully I would get to meet you one day. Or maybe even do a concert togrther, so we can both share our strong passions.

  3. Samuel, I am honored! You are such a talent.
Maud Powell, I agree! We are definitely very lucky to be known female violinists. That is for sure the best thing about us! I would be honored to meet you one day! A concert with the both of us would be even more lovely. We, as women, can prove ourselves to be just as, or even more passionate and talented performers.
