Wilma Neruda was very lucky and honored to be compared to violinist Joseph Joachim. It was not common for women instrumentalists to be compared to men! Above is a picture of Joseph Joachim.
It's neat that you overcame discrimination as a women. People often disrespected me because I am South American, but after they saw my talent I was respected.
I'm glad you could get past your discrimination, to be compared to Joseph Joachim. I heard him once before. He deserves the title as one of the greatest violinists of the 19th century. However, that is not to say that there isn't someone else who better holds that position. By someone, I of course mean you, Neruda. I likely cannot understand your predicament. In comparison to you, my life is just a smooth stone path, with some gold trimmings. However, I can understand that your path to having recognition should have been much, much smoother. You are nothing short of excellent, but people didn't want to believe that.
Jose Cuneo, yes, it was extremely hard to break out from the arrogant white men that believed anyone else simply wasn't good enough. With our help I hope that the future generations of artists and scientists will have an easier time striving for their dream. Verdi, isn't Joachim just wonderful? He is such a talented musician. And thank you so much!
